Well I have a family history of 'alcoholism', so I've learned to stay away from that. Where I find serenity is physical activity (mountain biking/sports), it releases endorphines. Also doing some recreational reading, reading books that help me find meaning to life.

One thing that I'm learning is not to let my wife/families put me in a bad mood. I love and care about them, I have a desire for them to be happy but I'm not responsible for them being a a good mood.

I'm finding that I must give myself some time for myself. This doesn't give me permission to disregard my responsabilities or that my family will suffer. There is a balance of everyone supporting one another, I support my wife having time for herself and see supports me. But I must not demanded it, by doing that I'm placing myself above her and my family.

Over the past few months my stress ahs been coming from, just not connecting with my wife. We approach things from 180 degrees, i'm learning (well getting better) at not just reacting but thinking and looking at it from her view point. After 23 years i should be good at it - NOT.
