A message from the Founder

Dads 4 Special Kids was created from the isolation, detachment and lonliness I experienced after my son with special needs was born.  The journey has definitely had it's ups and downs, and I'm sure the road ahead will be the same, but I am so very grateful for what it has given me.

I have a deep immeasurable love and adoration for my son, Zach, because without him, I would not be who I am today.  He is happy and content...everyday...because all he wants is to love and to be loved,  teaching me to be content. His strength and resilience are humbling, teaching me to persevere. Zach's love is unconditional,  teaching me to be less selfish.  He has taught me to trust that God has all things planned for good.

My prayer for you is that you will allow your child...and God...to search out what happiness and joy they can bring you, and that Dads 4 Special Kids will be a support through your own journey!

As I reflect on the past year I have to say a lot has happened and yet not much has changed. I've been struggling with what to do with the D4SK website, how to develop a place where dads/men can get support, encouragement and insight from other men that are in a similar situation.

If you have any ideas please send them my way.
