Well it’s been a long while since I’ve written and I even promised that I’d post every two weeks. I guess I need to figure out some way of getting & forcing myself to write.                 So let me start with what has happened in the past few months; to start with I’m still married and we’re doing good, I want to say great but we have our rough moments. Zach’s doing really well at his day program and he’s making super small improvement towards getting potty trained. Let’s just say 50% of the time he tells us when he’s gone.  We were able to get our insurance company to pay for a specialist (behaviorist) to evaluate Zach, home life and adult day program. They then put together a ‘plan of action’; we’re going to start it next week. Hopefully we can get to 75%.                 Another big thing that has happened I was invited as a quest speaker at a conference in Kentucky regarding, Emergency & Disaster Preparedness for Individuals with Developmental or Behavioral Disabilities. I had spoken at a similar conference in Feb here in Phoenix, I guess I made an positive impression and the invited me to Kentucky. I presented  on ‘developing partnerships between first responders and individuals. Kelly (my wife) was also invited to speak on Psychological First Aid, she did an awesome job. We’d never been to that area of the country; this provided us an opportunity and a chance to be together. (first time in 12 yrs.) We had a great time, and hopefully future opportunities for us. We have a deep passion for improving the outcome for individuals and their families. There needs to find some innovative ways for FEMA/Homeland Security, our local government and individuals to come together. So if you have an ideas or thoughts please send them my way.
